🍡 Japan Fes @ Long Island City 🍡

Time: Full Day from 8AM - 7PM (Includes 1 hour lunch break) OR 8:30AM- 12PM / 2:30PM - 7PM
Location: Long Island City (specific location tbd)
Description: JAPAN Fes is a street Japanese festival that takes place in the city of New York. Volunteering is a great way to see firsthand how a Japanese festival is run. You can get a free Ramen ticket 🍜🎟️, earn a special edition T-shirt 👕after 5 volunteer shifts, and get a limited-edition windbreaker after 10 shifts 🌟! Tasks include Surveys 📋and Photography 📸, Marketing 📊, Reception Booth Set Up & Wrap Up 💪.

🌷Sunset Park Cleanup🌷

Description:   Help clean Sunset Park! Activities include: keeping lawns green, raking the leaves and litter-free, planting and tending the flowers and shrubs, and removing the weeds. Come support the environment! Perfect if you love the outdoors.

🍝📦9/11 Day of Service📦🍝

Date: September 8th to September 11th
Time: 6:45 AM to 4:30 PM (depends on shift)
Location: Pier 86, W 46th St, New York, NY 10036
Description: New York Cares volunteers support the meal-packing groups by either orienting volunteers as they arrive at the event, checking in volunteers, and resupplying meal packing tables and loading boxes of meals onto pallets. Together with organizations from across the city, we’ll help pack over 3,000,000 meals for New Yorkers facing food insecurity.

🖌️🎨Healing Art with The Holding Frames🎨🖌️

Date: Saturday, September 12th
Time:  8:15 AM to 6:00 PM (with shifts)
Location: Washington Market Park, 199 Chambers Street, New York, NY
Description: The event will involve the painting of wooden frames with messages of care delivered for those facing disasters. The completed artwork is packed on-site and sent to communities across the United States dealing with disasters. Volunteers will assist around the event in a variety of roles to help make the event smoother and allow participants to work in a fun, efficient manner.

Description: RaisingHealth is hosting their 11th annual Health Empowerment Celebration on Saturday, September 19th from 12pm - 3:30pm at Sunset Park Center Lawn. During this annual event, they host cultural performances, art activities, health screenings, and resource tabling to serve hundreds of community members over the course of several hours. Join them in their quest to uplift and celebrate immigrant communities.

🌳🧹Climate Week Community Clean Up Day🧹🌳

Description: Head over to Socrates Sculpture Park and Hallet’s Cove for a Community Clean Up Day in recognition of Climate Week! Volunteers will tend to our coastal ecosystem with Socrates staff by weeding, raking, and helping clean up the beach as well as the street tree beds on Vernon Blvd. No gardening experience is necessary, and the organizer will provide the gloves and any needed tools.

Description: Sign up to be a day of volunteer for our New York City Congenital Heart Walk on TBD at Flushing Meadows Corona Park! So many people work diligently year-round to help make a difference in the lives of families affected by congenital heart defects. The NYC Congenital Heart Walk brings heart families, survivors, and supporters together for a meaningful one-mile walk to show that no one faces CHDs alone.

✂️🌳Street Tree Care in Astoria🌳✂️

Description: Volunteer with Big Reuse and 31st Ave Open Street to care for street trees. Join them as they remove litter and weeds, aerate soil, and add compost to street trees—while learning about the benefits of enhancing the green canopy across our urban environment. Street trees clean air, cool the area, and reduce the amount of rainwater that enters the city drains. They are essential to a thriving neighborhood.
